In what may have been conceived as an April Fool’s joke, a Joel Osteen Ministries site launched recently reporting that the mega-church leader not only resigned from his post at Lakewood Church in Texas, but renounced Christianity as well.
“Deep down in my heart, for a number of years now, I have been questioning the faith, Christianity and whether Jesus Christ is really my, or anyone’s, ‘savior,’” read the blog that was supposedly written by Joel. “There is zero evidence the Bible is the holy word of God. In fact, there is zero evidence ‘God’ even exists.”
The unofficial site includes reports that are supposedly from CNN and other credible news outlets.
However, church representative, Andrea Davis assured the Houston Chronicle that the elaborate rumor is just that.
Church leaders have not clarified whether they’ll seek legal action against the pranksters. Some legal experts believe Joel may be able to sue the culprits for libel. At this time, it’s unclear who created the fake site or why.
Christian Bale may be Moses next!
Aiming to capitalize on the success of the History Channel’s The Bible TV miniseries, two studios are working on competing movie projects based on the biblical book of Exodus.
Best known for his role as Batman, Christian Bale is set to play Moses in Ridley Scott’s forthcoming 20th Century Fox film, Exodus, focusing on the Old Testament leader’s life, including his relationship with Pharaoh Rameses II, according to Deadline.com.
Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg has reportedly stepped down as director of Paramount Studios’ Gods and Kings, with Oscar-winning Life of Pi Director Ang Lee expected to replace him, The Guardian reported. Gods and Kings is described as an epic biopic of Moses “in a gritty Braveheart-meets-Saving–Private–Ryan style,” the British newspaper said.
Janet Is a married Muslim woman
Janet Jackson done fell in love, got married and moved off to the Middle East with her new hubby Wissam Al Mana, where she has allegedly converted to Islam.
TheYBF reports that the singer, who is best known for her rockin’ moves and incredible body, will never show those attributes off again.
A source told Showbiz 411, “She’s gone. She married a billionaire. They’ve got houses in three countries. She’s spending time in the Middle East. She’s become a Muslim.”
Well, she has served her time, so to speak. The singer has been rocking the stage for ages, wooing fans and stripping (literally) for a long time. It can be quite consuming and tiring. So why not escape to love, in a nice quiet life, full of luxury and relaxation.

A 10 year reign of sexual terror is over for seven girls in Covington, Virginia. A Covington man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted of molesting seven girls. Don Billups was convicted of 16 sex crimes and sentenced to two life sentences plus seventy five years.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Ed Stein said there were seven victims between the ages of 10 and 16. The oldest allegations date back to 2002, the most recent between 2010 and 2012. According to Stein, the girls were friends of Billups’ daughters or were known to him through a church in Covington where he was a deacon.
Stein said Billups denied every allegation to the end. The jury, however, found him guilty on all 16 counts and recommended a sentence of two life terms plus 75 years.
The earliest allegation was reported to law enforcement in 2002. Stein said the case never went anywhere at the time, however. [source]
The church where Billups got his victims was Gospel Tabernacle, a church in the Greater West Virginia Jurisdiction where Henderson Wheeler is bishop. In 2002, when Billups was first reported to police, the church was pastored by Supt. Warner L. Hunter, until his death in 2009. Afterwards his son-in-law, Gregory Moore became pastor. See our reporting on Don Billups and the fallout here and here.
