Nora Espinoza, who identifies as Hispanic, is joining the conservative party line against the proposed study curriculum. “These are are extremely racist and hate books,” Espinoza said.
Naturally, her sentiments are causing a commotion amongst people. Author Rodolfo Acuña, whose books are amongst those that Espinoza is calling for removal, had this to say: “I don’t think she’s qualified to make that judgment. It’s never come up in an academic journal … I’ve been panned, I’ve been praised, but I’ve never been called a racist and the book has never been called racist.”
