Isaiah 54:17 (New King James Version)

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,

And every tongue which rises against you in judgment

You shall condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,

And their righteousness is from Me,”

Says the LORD.

People all over the world rolled over this morning to turn their alarms off and sighed a deep sigh of despair. The weekend is over and today is Monday. Gone is the exuberance of Friday afternoon, when the weekend was ahead. Gone is the excitement of living out the plans of Saturday night. Even the peace from a Sunday spent in the presence of the Lord and fellowship among the saints has faded.  It’s time to get back to the “real world” now and to spend all week looking forward to Friday again.

With that thought gripping our minds, we plant our feet on the floor and stomp into our week subconsciously or consciously looking forward to the end – the end of each day until Friday.

No matter how you look at it. That’s a pretty pathetic point of view. You were not designed to waste time waiting for the end of anything. You were designed to create and to produce with purpose and enthusiasm as long as you have breath in your body.

I submit to you that there is another way to look at Mondays. Monday is God’s gift to you. Monday is the start of a new week full of opportunity and promise. Monday is yet another chance for positive change. You may be fooled into thinking that you know exactly how this day is going to go. But you would be wrong. As long as God is still firmly seated on the throne (and he is),  this day, with all of its distractions, opportunities, dry spots, periods of waiting, and moments of high activity will work out for your good and will not be like any other day before or after it. Don’t miss that.

Part of defeating our enemy is recognizing his schemes. One of his biggest and most widely accepted ones is that we should all hate Mondays. God created Mondays as surely as he created the Sabbath. It is a day that he has made. Therefore we should be excited simply to see it.

He has given us a time to create and produce and a time to rest from creation and productivity. If we learn to properly take advantage of our Sabbaths, we will be more likely to adopt God’s attitude towards the start of our work week.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper. So let’s expose the lie that Mondays are anything less than God’s best.  And let’s walk into our Mondays secure in the knowledge that the Holy Spirit has gone before us and walks with us into victory.

Let’s put  on our full armor, especially our “helmet” of salvation (for right thinking) and be determined meet every challenge with the joy of the Lord in our hearts. Let’s put our hand in his, and start today’s adventure together with him in the lead.  Are you ready? Let’s do this!

Be blessed Family!
