Alisa raye and devon franklinctress LisaRaye McCoy and Author/Film Executive DeVon Franklin joined forces to host the One Church International benefit concert, “One Church, One Night.” The event was broadcast live on the Internet to more than 150 countries and featured a crowd-pleasing line-up, including Tammi Haddon, KJ Scriven, Sharon Youngblood, Larry Walker, Chief Wakil and P.S.A.L.M.S choir featuring Jason McGee.

McCoy and Franklin, who both regularly frequent One Church, commended Pastor Touré Roberts for his vision for creating the ministry eight years ago. At that time, the businessman left corporate America and answered the call to serve God and ultimately lead those called to the entertainment industry to use their gifts and talents to further God’s reach to the world.

“One Church is a place where you can come to meet with God and hear a message that will inspire you to be a better person,” said McCoy. Franklin chimed in, “Tonight is a divine appointment. We thank God for Pastor Toure’s heart to sow into others and help us demonstrate God’s love on a daily basis.”

An electrifying roster of talent took to the stage to entertain the packed theater. Grammy-nominated artist Tammi Haddon shared her personal testimony of overcoming incredible odds to stand by the grace of God. Her performance of “Love Lifted Me” filled the air with worship. North Carolina’s KJ Scriven inspired the crowd with the prophetic selection, “Under Construction.” P.S.A.L.M.S gospel choir, directed by Jason McGee, provided a stirring rendition of “Balm In Gilead,” while the One Movement dancers portrayed spiritual warfare through Hip Hop.

In addition to raising funds for the church’s new home in West Hollywood, California, a portion of the evening’s proceeds will also support BrittiCares International, which assists children with Cancer; and an organization supporting the children of the Newtown, Connecticut shooting. Roberts called on the church to recognize the shootings as a wake-up call to work harder to be the example the world so desperately needs.

“Although we are sorrowful, we are not experiencing sorrow without hope,” said Roberts. “God has ordained us to be the light of the world and the tragedy in Connecticut is a call for us to let our lights shine like never before. Darkness will not relent. It’s time to be in purpose and walk out your calling. Don’t deprive the world of the light that God has put inside of you.”
