Arif S. Kinchen, the voice of many of the world’s best known video games and animated films, steps in front of the cameras for the holiday release of “Christmas in Compton” opening in theaters on November 9, 2012.
Kinchen, whose voice resonates in video games including the THQ series Saints Row and Red Faction: Guerrilla, as well as Max Anarchy, Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam and such animated hits as “Happy Feet” and the Cartoon Network’s MAD: The Series, joins the cast of “Christmas in Compton” for big laughs and holiday cheer as “Squeaky”, the owner of a paralegal kiosk conducting business on a Christmas tree lot.
The film, written and directed by David Raynr and released by Barnholtz Entertainment and Bright Idea Entertainment, stars Omar Gooding (Baby Boy and TV’s “Hanging with Mr. Cooper”, “Miami Medical” & the 2012 Hit “Family Time”), Keith David (Crash, Platoon, 2012 WB release ”Cloud Atlas” with Tom Hanks and Halle Berry), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit & TV’s MOESHA),
Eric Roberts (The Expendables, The Dark Knight), Miguel A. Núñez Jr. (Juwanna Man & TV One’s “Belles”, “Sparks” ), Edwin Hodge (Red Dawn and TV’s Private Practice, Cougar Town) and
Orlando Brown (Major Payne, TV’s “That’s So Raven”).
Rounding out this comedic cast are Charles Kim (Wedding Palace and TV’s Law & Order: LA , iCarly), Emiliano Torres (Raising Hope, Law & Order: LA, NCIS) with “breakout star” Porscha Coleman (Janky Promoters and TV’s Entourage, The Closer) and introducing
newcomer Jayda Brown as “Sierra”. The PG-13 rated comedy will keep the whole family in stitches while proving once again that Christmas miracles can happen anywhere.
Kinchen, who began his acting career in “House Party,” and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s “The Wash”, guest starred in top-rated series including “Saved by the Bell” and gained household recognition as La Marr Hicks, office assistant to Maxey Sparks on the UPN hit series “SPARKS.” He has appeared in numerous commercial campaigns, including popular spots for Coca-Cola, Lowes, 800-The General and Bud Light, and Boost Mobile.
Mr. Kinchen, one of a handful of African American rising to fame in the video gaming world, has also garnered fame in the field of voiceovers, lending his vocal characterizations to hundreds of commercials (Boost Mobile / COX), cartoon series (CrashBox / Family Guy), Promo (Tyler Perry’s House of Payne/Meet The Browns). In addition to “Christmas in Compton,”Arif Kinchen can be heard in character as the voice of First Lieutenant Pierce Washington in THQ’s upcoming video game, Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package, available November 6.
