After an eight-year hiatus, gospel music enthusiast will gather for a day of music, inspiration and celebration at the Certified Praise Fest on August 18, 2012 at the historic Chene Park Amphitheatre located at 2600 Atwater St. Detroit, MI 48207. Sponsored by Certified Praise 4 God, Impact Network and Chene Park, the free of charge event will take place from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.
The Certified Praise Fest is guaranteed to bring hope, inspiration and the joy of gospel music to the city of Detroit as well as return as a pillar within the Metro Detroit community. The one-day event will also provide various resources to the community provided by American Heart Association, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Omni Care, Impact Cares, Gleaners Food Bank, Forgotten Harvest and a host of others.
The Certified Praise Fest will feature some of Gospel music’s greats national artist, Damita Haddon, Shana Wilson, Tim Bowman Jr., D Maub and over 20 local and national artists. The event will also feature Bishop Wayne T. Jackson and Pastor Fred Brame of Impact Ministries International, Pastor Welton Smith IV of New Life Family Church and the Certified Praise Fest house band, directed by national recording producer J. Drew Sheard. The festivities continue with the “Detroit Rising Stars” competition for youth ages 18 and under and the awarding of the “Bishop John H. Sheard Dollars for Scholars” Scholarship to one Metro Detroit student.
