Victor Richardson,an Anderson pastor remained in the Hamilton County Jail on Tuesday evening, facing charges of domestic battery, strangulation and resisting an officer.
Victor Richardson, the pastor at New Zion Fellowship Church in Anderson, was arrested in May for allegedly trying to strangle his wife at their Fishers home.
He was released on bond, but a warrant was issued later for a probation violation charge.
According to court documents, Fishers police were called to Richardson’s Fishers home May 27, for allegations that he was intoxicated, had strangled his wife and wouldn’t let her leave.
“When we have a suspect that is actively strangling the victim, that is one of the more serious situations we encounter,” said Tom Weger, spokesman for Fishers Police Department.
Court documents show Richardson barricaded himself in a bedroom when officers arrived, saying: “Shoot me. you’ll have to shoot me.”
Finally, officers had to kick open the door. Good grief!
