Much of what we do in life is haphazard and without much structure or planning. We arise in the morning ten minutes after the third snooze to offer up some basic prayer and, after dressing, we are out of the door. Work is not much different, with our countless un-returned emails from the day before, double-booked conference calls, and multiple end-of-day deadlines. We start and end our day in defensive mode. The chaos needs to come to a close. Let’s start living on purpose. Get rid of all the distractions and focus on the things that are absolutely necessary. There are people that you were destined to reach crossing your path every day. Don’t be so focused on the to-do list that you forget that your life is truly about how you reach and impact others.

Living on purpose requires a conscious decision to prioritize what is most meaningful and long lasting. Take a few moments in the evening to analyze your day and see where you can improve the next day. You have a great assignment in life—don’t allow any more moments to slip by you. Make the most of every opportunity. You could be the reason for someone else’s smile today.
