When you think about all that you have gone through in life and where you came from the question of “why am I here” must have come up at least once or twice. Many times we feel like we don’t know who we are or what the point is to our life. This is because we haven’t begun to search out our purpose. I know you’ve heard this word many times before but sometimes it’s hard to understand what it means. Purpose is an ever discovering thing that some never realize before it’s too late. Many people have lived and died never discovering their purpose and because of this there are young people who are still alive that will not get breakthrough until some other person begins to walk in his/her purpose.

Purpose is the predetermined destination that God has for your life. The bible says that, “Before the foundation of the world God knew you.” This means that a plan and destiny was already designed just for you before you were ever born. So believe it or not your purpose has already been here waiting on you. This is something you will not be able to avoid no matter what. You can run but you can’t hide. There will always be this yearning inside of you that says there’s got to be more.  Many times we don’t want to look or discuss the issue of purpose because it may cost us too much. Even Jesus himself prayed to God the father about avoiding the crucifixion but He recognized it was His purpose and said, “But for this cause came I into the world.”  Yes you can raise your children and yes you can achieve great personal goals but none of these things can substitute for the purpose God has for your life.

Here are three ways you can began to discover your purpose on a daily basis:

1.      Your gifts and talents are signs to your purpose. Many times our God given gifts are clues to what we are here for and what purpose we can fulfill.

2.      What brings you great passion or causes you pain could be a true testimony to what your purpose is in life.

3.      Something you are willing to give your life towards or give your life up for is a sign to your purpose.
