Kingdom Records has released the brilliant live concert DVD of praise and worship master Phil Tarver’s Top 10 CD release, Place of Worship his third U.S. solo project. The dynamic set of songs was recorded live before an overflow crowd of 3,000 fervent worshippers at Valley Kingdom Ministries International’s main sanctuary in Oak Forest, IL in February 2010. With a stellar band and full-throttle backing vocalists (including a cameo by label mate Tonya Baker), Tarver performed over a dozen original praise and worship tunes that stylistically ranged from smooth jazz ballads and Caribbean rhythms to pulsating funk-rock vamps on “Warriors” that Tarver said were for the head-bangers as the audience shook their fists in solidarity.
