As we wind down the day let us place our worries aside.We all have moments of anxiety. It is hard to think when you walk around looking over your shoulder wondering about what people are saying about you or planning to do to you.In today’s society the harsh glare of our lives being observed and dissected has become the norm. Posting on Twitter, FaceBook and Foursquare have become the norm. All these things have made us hyper sensitive to what others think about us.
This wonderful Psalm of David fills our heart with peace. When our Shepherd is there with us, we can leave aside all our worries and rejoice.
” The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths for his names sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil;
for you are with me; your rod and your staff – they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.”
Whenever you feel worried or anxious, Psalm 23 can assure you of how the Lord takes cares of each one of us.
