On this day, Malcolm X also known as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz was gunned down during a rally for his new organization, Organization of Afro-American Unity.  Since his Muslim pilgrimage to mecca, Malcolm’s  view of the world and racism had changed.  A new direction and movement stood before him but unfortunately his message on this anticipatory day was paused permanently.
