13th Annual African American Women In Cinema Film Festival

Last night I had the opportunity to attend The 13th African American Women In Cinema Film Festival that is taking place November 18th-20th in New York City. The landmark event featured a Red Carpet VIP Opening Night Reception, an Awards Presentation, an exclusive screening of the powerful film “Promised Land.” I am editing the video footage of the event and will follow up with an additional post, just wanted to make sure you are aware of this important event.
Tonight celebrating the “Next Generation of Filmmakers,” youth program and on Saturday “Conversation with Ntozake Shange” creator of Colored Girls moderated by Felicia Lee of the New York Times, a rare screening of the Original production of Colored Girls, starring Ntozake Shange, Lynn Whitfield and Alfre Woodard, following a Closing Reception.
