The year in Gospel Music is ramping up quickly as we approach the beginning of the award season with American Music Awards and holiday television programming.

American Music Awards Nominees Announced

Congratulations to tobyMac, Casting Crowns, and MercyMe who are all nominees for the 2010 American Music Awards in the category of Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist. Voting for this award takes place at the AMA website. This year’s festivities will be broadcast live on November 21 at 8p ET from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on the ABC network.

In the studio

Gospel Music Group artist and gospel music legend Richard Smallwood will stream a special recording session for his new album Promises on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 6p ET. This exclusive session streams live at Verity Gospel Music Group‘s website. Viewers will be able to chat during the session and can pre-order the new release Promises, which is slated to hit stores March 2011.
