This is a re-post from another site I blog.  I thought it was interesting so I wanted to open the discussion here.  Talhe topic alone begs the question, how many people would be willing to commit to eating raw/live foods if you knew it could save your life?  To be honest, I’m not sure.  Sometimes I think most American’s are hell-bent on the old adage that, “If I haven’t died from it already, then it must be alright.”  It’s such a shame too because there are truly some awesome remedies out there that can change the course of ones life if researched and considered beyond your familiarity.

My good friend Tegra Little is a live food chef and teacher.  A few years ago I was invited to a party she hosted where nothing but raw and living foods were served, many of which she prepared herself.  She embarked upon her journey after a bout with cancer and decided after attending Optimum Health Institute in San Diego, California that the raw and live food way of life was the best choice for her healing.  She was right.  With her new diet, she is cancer free and living an optimal life, you can read more about her story.

The raw and living food diet is one that doesn’t come without much preparation.  Many probably would opt NOT to embark upon this journey simply because of the equipment (blender, dehydrators, juicers, etc…), time and energy needed to make it work.  It seems simpler just to “cook” the food you’re looking to eat.  But based on Tegra’s study, cooked foods do not contain the enzymes, oxygen, hormones and other life force needed by the body for its optimal health.

Many people use the raw and living food diet to lose weight in addition to healing from health challenges.  For fun, I have included a video meal preparation for raw spaghetti and sauce.  Trust me, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.  Eating raw can literally save lives.

I want to say that this dish was served while at Tegra’s.  If not, there was something like it and let me tell you…it was delicious.  I mean the crazy thing is, you don’t miss out on anything that you need.  As a matter of fact, you get more of it.  If the facts are true, and I am inclined to believe they are, we are killing our meals by adding the heat.  Our vegetables are no longer giving us what we need after we’ve steamed them.  A sad truth.  And yes!  This does take some getting used to…but once you acclimate, there is nothing but great explorations ahead.  Okay…okay…one more video.  I saw this little girl and thought she was the best.  If you like almond cookies, here is a great recipe for making raw almond cookies. Yum!
