Roland Martin talks to Jonathan Butler, a University of Missouri graduate student who is on a hunger strike until the university’s President Tim Wolfe resigns in light of racial inequalities on campus.

On the status of his hunger strike:

“I’m managing. My body is tired and hungry. I started last Monday and I’m only drinking water.”

On his personal experience dealing with racism on campus:

“From my second week as an undergrad there somebody wrote nigger on my wall, when Obama got elected I got into a physical altercation with white students and we even had cotton balls thrown at our cultural center. We’ve written letters, we’ve gone to forums and we sent emails and they continue to ignore us.”
