In her new single ‘Steel Here’, actress Tisha Campbell-Martin sings about resiliency and burden of abuse. Tisha revealed last year that she was raped when she was only three-years-old and that the experience had weighed heavily on her heart, soul and mind for her entire life.

Tisha is a woman of God and has never run away from that fact. She is grounded in the word and was most likely inspired by the scripture in Micah 7:18 that says:

Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression  of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.

Tisha seems to have  applied that principle to her life when she tweeted the following describing her new music video she says:

‘The writing on my body and the man writing the letter reps the actual words of an apology letter I recently received from the person who violated me when I was 3 yrs old. By blessing me with the apology letter he allotted me the ability to be free and to forgive.’

She is really turning a corner and moving on using the divine gift of the holy spirit. She has embraced forgiveness. Jesus said over and over again that we should forgive and bind our cares in prayer.

Tisha will be on a new television show next week on ABC called Dr.Ken.

Watch her new music video below:

Tisha is not the only artist to take the  struggle of abuse and spiritual healing to music. Contemporary christian singers Plumb did this with their hit single  ‘Damaged’ a few years ago.
