As family mourn the loss of Beau Biden, Vice President Joe Biden’s son, plans are being made for his funeral service. According to the White House, President Obama will deliver the eulogy at the funeral mass, which is slated to take place in Delaware Saturday. “Like his dad, Beau was a good, big-hearted, devoutly Catholic and deeply faithful man who made a difference in the lives of all he touched — and he lives on in their hearts,” said President Obama. “But for all that Beau Biden achieved in his life, nothing made him prouder; nothing made him happier; nothing claimed a fuller focus of his love and devotion than his family.” Biden, who served during the Iraq war, passed away last Saturday after a long bout with brain cancer. Man Who Shot George Zimmerman to use Stand Your Ground
Matthew Apperson, the man who was accused of shooting George Zimmerman, will reportedly use “stand your ground” as his defense; the same law Zimmerman invoked after he was arrested for fatally shooting Florida teenager Trayvon Martin. Apperson’s attorney believes that he can use the stand your ground claim because he shot at Zimmerman when he felt endangered. Apperson would have to go before a judge prior to his trial so that it can be decided whether or not he can use the aforementioned defense. “That’s a good look into the future,” said attorney Michael LaFay. Shonda Rhimes to Publish a Novel
Shonda Rhimes is known for penning the scripts for some of the hottest shows on television, but now Rhimes will dabble in another realm of writing. She will be releasing a novel that delves into her personal journey at the end of this year. The book, which is titled Year of Yes, will highlight her life changing experiences upon entering Hollywood. “Saying yes for an entire year turned out to be one of the most amazing decisions I have ever made,” said Rhimes in a statement. “It was also a little insane, a lot terrifying and sometimes wildly embarrassing.” Read more.
