Trai Byers

The season finale of Empire was the equivalent of an entire season of most other shows. In other words, it was like every other night of Empire, but twice as much. We saw Andre yon go to church and face the devil in his father. When Luscious looked over and challenged him we all got chills, “Let’s just see who’s stronger your daddy or God.”

Trai Byers has kept viewers on the edge of their seats as “Andre Lyon” in FOX’s hit drama “Empire,” but the actor is focused on a different type of inheritance than the fictional bipolar character who’s scheming to take over his family’s business in the show.

Trai has played the role so well, that social media was in an uproar over his character’s behavior. The actor didn’t take it personally. He instead is channeling the show  for greater good.

According to his exclusive interview with Christian Post:

On social media and on the street people were saying, ‘If I see Trai on the street, I’m going to slap him in the face.’ Whether it’s true or not, it’s not a good thing to hear. Ultimately, knowing God and reading the Word, it helps with patience with people, understanding, empathy and sympathy that they might not have that I have. If God gave it to me, why not exercise it? I know a part of my journey now, the reason I’m an actor now, the platform that I have now. I’m supposed to share the Lord with people. All of us are disciples on some level, you don’t have to be behind the podium to tell a story, connect with people and share the Gospel.”

It’s nice to see someone in Hollywood get it. Good for him. You can read the rest of the engaging interview at The Christian Post.
