After a storied and prestigious career that includes 11 Grammy awards, 13 Stellar awards, and 18 GMA Dove awards, the first lady of Gospel is back. Pastor Shirley Caesar recently released her 43rd album, A City Called Heaven on Light Records.

If the only thing you know about Pastor Shirley is that she can take songs like “No Charge,” “Hold My Mule” or “Don’t Drive Your Mama Away” and sing them into the ground, then hold on… there’s more to tell!

Only a few years ago, Shirley updated her sound by trading rap verses— and impressively so— with Tonéx on her hit “I Know The Truth.” She continues to reinvent herself on the lead single “Nobody” that pairs her fiery vocals with new-schooler J. Moss and energizes her gospel sound with elements of rock and hip-hop.

Her take-no-prisoners approach to delivering the gospel sends a message: if the club ain’t gonna come to Jesus, then Jesus is gonna have to hit the club. This raucous new single comes out swinging and 4 minutes later demands to be put on repeat. Take a listen for yourself below!
