A new single from living legend Karen Clark Sheard has hit the radio waves! “Prayed Up,” written by Sheard and her son John Drew Sheard (aka JDS) will appear on her new studio album All In One, due to release February 9, 2010. The album will feature contributions from Dorinda Clark Cole, J. Moss, neice Angel Chisholm (daughter of Jacky Cullum Chisholm), and production team PAJAM.
We last heard from Karen as a solo artist during her feature turn on “Wait On The Lord,” a duet with Donnie McClurkin from his We All Are One album. Although she hasn’t released a solo album since the Aaron Lindsey & Israel Houghton-produced It’s Not Over bowed at the top of 2006, she has definitely stayed busy. She reunited with her famous sisters in 2007 to record the album Live… One Last Time. Not only did the fans greet the release with enthusiasm, but by 2008 it captured two Grammy awards for The Clark Sisters and one more for Karen Clark Sheard as writer of their hit “Blessed and Highly Favored.”
If she wasn’t already wearing enough hats as a singer, mother, sister, and pastor’s wife, she now adds record label executive to her title. Earlier in 2009, Sheard and her husband started Karew Records in partnership with EMI Gospel. The new label has already released a holiday album A Clark Family Christmas featuring J. Moss, Bill Moss, Jr., The Clark Sisters, and Kierra Sheard. According to a recent interview with Karen, once All In One is released, Karew will turn its attention toward a new album from The Clark Sisters.
