BMI‘s 15th Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards Luncheon was once again the hottest, most exclusive and most coveted invite during the Stellar Awards weekend in Nashville. And the event was packed with Gospel legends, superstars and rising stars.
This year BMI celebrated Daryl Coley and Richard Smallwood for their amazing bodies of work, and BMI Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations Catherine Brewton hosted the luncheon along with Mary Mary‘s Erica Campbell and Donnie McClurkin.
While Daryl Coley and Richard Smallwood were the main attractions of the BMI 15th Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards Luncheon, awesome performances by many of today’s hottest Gospel artists were delivered. Plus, BMI’s Most-Performed Gospel Song of the Year honors were delivered to Kirk Franklin and Tamela Mann for writing and performing “Take Me to the King,” respectively. (Their hit comes from Tamela Mann’s “Best Days” album, reached #1 on the Billboard gospel chart and achieved crossover success.)
Here’s who performed tributes:
Zacardi Cortez (“Jesus Saves”)
Tasha Page-Lockhart (“He’s Preparing Me”)
Earnest Pugh (“More Like Jesus”)
Floyd Wilkinson (“II Chronicles”)
Beverly Crawford (“Can’t Tell It All”)
