Kansas East Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ’ Sunshine Band is currently a Stellar Awards nominee in the Children Projects category. The CD entitled Perfected Praise has been a blessing to them and the Jurisdiction. It is a collection of original gospel music performed by children from ages 3 to 12.
These kids are from across the Kansas and Missouri state line comprised of over 60 churches. Their vocal ability is comparable to other high profile adults in the gospel industry. Accompanying the choir is an explosive band with some of the best musicians the Kansas City metropolitan area has to offer.
The Executive Producer of this project is Bishop L.F. Thuston. Bishop Thuston has a passion for children and young people and has elevated these kids to the next level. As an innovative leader, Bishop Thuston seeks to find ways to glorify God with the witness and power of the full Gospel ministry. This latest effort provides a platform for the children over which he has oversight to use their respective talents by recording a musical CD. His vision is to make a significant impact locally and around the world in the lives of our future generation.

The 29th Annual Stellar Awards will air from its new home at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 7 p.m. EST/6 p.m. CST/4 p.m. PST. The Stellar Awards will air in national broadcast syndication in over 200 television markets from January 25 – March 22. The red carpet hosted by Tye Tribbett will air online prior to the telecast covering the glitz and glamour of the celebrity arrivals.
