Who is Wayne Chaney Jr.? Wayne Chaney is a cast member on “The Preachers of L.A.,” a new reality TV series set to debut on Oxygen in the fall of 2013. Wayne Chaney serves as senior pastor of Antioch Church in Long Beach, California, and under his leadership, the congregation has grown by leaps and bounds.
According to an Oxygen press release, Antioch is “poised to become the next mega-church with the ability to reach millions worldwide,” and the notoriety Wayne Chaney receives from “The Preachers of L.A.” may help him spread his message to even more people.
Who is Wayne Chaney, though, besides an aspiring reality star? Born March 8, 1979, he comes from a long line of pastors and preachers, according to his official website, and he runs the church his grandfather founded. Chaney has served as both president of the California National African American network and a board member of the National African American Network, and he was also on the Executive Board of the California Southern Baptist Convention. Over the years, Chaney has traveled to such countries as Israel, Mexico, England, South Korea Malaysia and Singapore, touching lives with what Oxygen calls “his contemporary and relevant approach to the Gospel.”
Pastor Wayne Chaney is married to gospel singer Myeisha Chaney—“his secret weapon” in growing Antioch—and has three children. He’s also gearing up to release a novel, “The Supernatural Life.”
Who is Wayne Chaney? A man of many talents, as well as a man of God—though he’s apparently not without his troubles. According to Oxygen, “there’s an obstacle in the way” of his taking the church to the next level, and it “comes from within Pastor Wayne’s own family.” Sounds juicy. Stay tuned!
