The New Year is almost here and the resolutions are ramping up. I think we all have the same resolution on our list and if you are like me, it is to lose fat. Fat loss is always at the top of my list. I have been doing well so far since I began in January 2009. I have stayed on my program and I will continue. I will share what has worked for me and you can use these tips to get you started in the right direction. Let’s go on this fat loss mission together and lose the fat for good. Let’s get thin in 2010!
Tip #1 Eating the right foods is key to major fat loss. This is 90% of your success. Portion control is a must. You have to eat 4-6 small meals a day with light snacking in between. I am going to share what I eat to give you an idea and put you on the right track. Morning, I would eat breakfast at around 9am and it would consist of a 3.5 oz steak and ½ grapefruit. Lunch, make a salad with cut strawberries and grilled chicken with a light vinaigrette dressing. Before dinner I would snack on an orange or apple. I lost 7.5 pounds in the first week. My fat loss was rapid. Dinner, make tilapia and spinach or asparagus. Cutting out sugar is essential to your fat loss success. I used Stevia in place of sugar. I drink a lot of tea because it helps with your water intake.
Tip #2 Working out is also critical for fat loss. If you want to see major results, implement a 20-30 minute daily workout. If you work a 9-5 then try to walk with some friends for lunch or take the stairs if possible. Get to the gym if you can, if that is not an option then buy a good workout DVD, currently I am using “Jillian Michael’s Biggest Loser”. This is great solution and they even have workouts for beginners, so don’t be afraid to pop in a tape. Doing cardio and weight training will burn more calories which will result in rapid fat loss as well. Take your measurements and keep track weekly by weighing in on Mondays.
Tip #3 A Good Night’s Rest! I know you are probably thinking why sleep? This is so good for fat loss. You cannot effectively lose weight without proper sleep. If you are fatigued this can hinder your success. I work out in the mornings and I know when I did not sleep well because I feel it in my workout or lack of. So, get your sleep on!
